Oscar winning Hollywood Heavyweight Anthony Hopkins stars in the long awaited Universal Pictures’ remake of the original 1941 Wolfman movie. He plays the role of Sir John Talbot, father of Lawrence Talbot (Benicio Del Toro) – The Wolfman – in the movie.
Sir John Talbot (Anthony Hopkins), found his son torn to pieces and was half eaten. And whatever did it was big and could not be killed by a buckshot. Ever since the incident, Sir John Talbot made silver bullets and would never go out on a full moon. When Lawrence Talbot (Benicio del Toro) decided to come home as he was convinced by his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), he meets his father and helps him and Gwen in the search of the thing that killed his brother. Later on in the story, Sir John Talbot discovers that his son was bitten by the creature that killed his son. As folklore says, his son would turn into a wolf when the moon shines bright.
Anthony Hopkins was born on 31 December 1937, in Margam, Wales, Studied at the College of Music and Drama and graduated in 1957. In 1965, he moved to London and joined the National Theatre. He landed his first film for television, A Flea in Her Ear in 1967. In 1968 to the 1980’s he played roles in films that left an impression to audiences.
In the 1990s, Anthony Hopkins made movies like Desperate Hours, Howards End, The Remains of the Day, (nominee for the Oscar), Legends of the Fall, Nixon (nominee for the Oscar), Surviving Picasso, Amistad (nominee for the Oscar),The Mask of Zorro, Meet Joe Black and Instinct. However, the film that rocketed his career as an actor was The Silence of the Lambs in 1991, for which he won the Oscar for Best Actor.
Having played the role of Vampire Hunter Professor Abraham Van Helsing in Francis Ford Copola’s 1992 film Dracula, and the infamous Hannibal Lecter , he would prove to be a very big factor in pulling audiences, along with fellow Academy Award Winner Benicio del Toro.
Emily Blunt (Emily – Devil Wears Prada) stars as Gwen Conliffe in the much awaited remake of the Universal Pictures 1941 film The Wolfman. Blunt, filling in the shoes of Evelyn Ankers from the original movie (Wolf Man, 1941) says that the movie is “very scary”.
Emily plays the role of a young woman and fiancée of Frank Andrews who happens to be Lawrence (Benicio del Toro) Talbot’s brother. Gwen Conliffe asks his fiancée’s brother to return home and aid her with her search. As the story unfolds, a monstrous being begins to terrorize the residents of the Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, while Conliffe (Emily Blunt) begins to take her lover’s brother’s heart until the cursed beast laid its eyes upon her and Talbot (Benicio del Toro) comes to her rescue in this Wolfman remake movie.
Emily Blunt was born on Febuary 23, 1983 Roehampton, South West London, England, which makes her perfect for the role. In addition, she attended drama studies at Hurtwood House (UK). Emily Blunt was a British actress who became famous in her role in My Summer of Love (2004) and Devil’s Wear Prada (2006).
Together with Anthony Hopkins and Benicio del Toro, Emily Blunt made Wolfman 2010 The remake worth waiting for. According to Emily Blunt:”With a movie like that and all its special effects, it’s a big movie; you can’t accelerate it’s release date. It’s not fair. It just needed some more time. The film is so good. I’m really happy that they waited.”

The legend is now coming this February 12, 2010 in USA. This film is a remake of the 1941 movie, “The Wolf Man”. The original plotline has been kept together with the setting of 1880. The story started when Lawrence Talbot (Benicio Del Toro) decided to return home to find his missing brother. His coming back was prompted by a letter from Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), his brother’s fiancée. Ms. Conliffe informed Lawrence (Benicio Del Toro) that his brother is missing and she needs his help in finding him. This is a chance for him to reunite with his estranged father (Anthony Hopkins). After the death of Lawrence Talbot’s (Benicio Del Toro) mother, he left the silent Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor behind – leaving together the pains and horrors of his childhood. He was not aware that the horror will welcome him home. The villagers were eyed by a gruesome creature in the dark. While some of the villagers are killed, the ancient curse was kept as a horrifying rumor. It was believed that the curse is passed on to those who are bitten by the beast. Not even Aberline (Hugo Weaving) a Scotland Yard inspector can give a logical explanation for the miserable spell that is covering Blackmoor.
The nobleman Lawrence Talbot hover the darkest part of Blackmoor, having the spirit of stopping the horror and protecting his love,(Emily Blunt). Because of an unexpected incident, the horror is now within him. An animal rage is unleashing his body and soul when the moon is full- and the legend Wolf Man comes to life.
